The path meandered through farm barns, the only sounds coming from the distant calls of birds and the crunch of gravel underfoot. The air was cold and still, setting the tone for a peaceful winter visit.
Soon, the topiary-lined entrance of the manor came into view—neatly clipped hedges framing the approach and offering a glimpse of the grandeur ahead. Past the topiary stood the Garden Cottage, a charming Cotswold stone building, marking the entrance to the farm area. Here, I was welcomed by two lovely ladies, who were serving teas and homemade cakes. The radiator’s warmth and their friendly conversation offered a much-needed pause before heading into the gardens.
